Every time you think, a sound frequency is created. Every time you speak, a sphere of sound comes out of your mouth that is a sacred geometry. Every time you feel something, a vibration forms. Every time you look at someone, you are looking at a musical symphony.

The world is sound. You are made of sounds resonating within a vibrational universe. How can you tap into them? Is there a system behind all sound vibrations, energy medicine, sound healing and all frequencies?

From Greek philosophers to the yogis of India, the artists of the Renaissance and the emerging technology of VR, we use sound vibrations as powerful forces to change our emotions, minds and DNA. Our ancestors used this in their language, art, buildings, music and sonic architectures.

Today, we are in an exciting evolutionary emergence with 5G, AI and quantum technologies which promise new ways to use sound vibration through our own inner organic technology and external technology. Using and understanding sound vibration is key in becoming a conscious multidimensional being, and it works well once you know how.

In the yoga of sound vibration found in India and the Kaballah, we are all seen as holograms, resonating in four different modes of sound vibration. These four modes include the words we use, pictures, altered states of consciousness and the quantum universal wave field.

Sound changes when we deeply listen. Sound is sacred geometry, mantra and Reiki. Sound is found in holographic books, symbols and our brains, forming pictures within the mind. Holographic expressions today include new forms of VR, holographic concerts and the vibratory art of Monet and Turner. The digital world is a training tool for us to remember and activate our inner, organic technology. We just need to switch it on, through the science of sound.

In The Science of Sound, we discover the foundations of the sonic universe as seen by the Indian masters, allied with the information rich system of the Kabbalah. We can understand this today through quantum physics, social media patterns, new technologies and psychology, which show us how the four modes of sound vibration deeply impact, influence and create our lives.

THE FOUR MODES of VIBRATION

The four modes of vibration are initially described in the Rk Veda, the Indian Hymn of Creation, Book of Knowledge or Book of Recitation, the world’s oldest text circa 5000 to 6000BC, and the foundation of all Indian spirituality.

Speech is measured out in four worlds. Three hidden in the deepest cavern cause no motion. Mankind gives utterance to the fourth.”

Speech in India is the Word, the first creative force. This Word or first power of creation, the first vibration, is understood in four ways, of which three are hidden from our everyday waking state of consciousness, with the fourth of speech being used by us. Speech and sound as we know it, from talking to each other, to writing, to all the sounds we can hear, are just one of the four modes of sound vibration.

In India and Tibet, the sciences of Nada Yoga, mantra and shiksha (science of sound) are one of the most important principles of existence as it is both the source of matter, and the key to become free from it. As the Bhagavad Gita, the essential Hindu text says,

‘One who can thoroughly understand the four stages of vibration can utilize this science to become free from the bondage of matter.’

This ‘freedom from the bondage of matter’ means one is free to manipulate matter in any way. This freedom means we have the power to escape our bodily limits, which VR points towards. Another such phenomenon is teleportation, which is currently being worked on with the successful testing of wireless electricity transmissions by M.I.T to charge our electronic devices.

Frequencies are threads, links between the material and unseen realms. All forms are created by sound. This multi-dimensional interconnection happens through the Four Modes of sound. As the Bhagavad Gita continues, "Sound conveys the idea of an object, indicates the presence of a speaker, and constitutes the subtle form of ether."

Without sound, there would be no objects. Sound gives rise to the idea of an object, the structure of an object, the infrastructure of every object, of YOU. Every thought is a sound, every idea is a sound, and every feeling is a frequency. Sound conveys the idea of an object through a bundle of frequencies, and everything in creation passes through the four stages of sound in order to manifest into the third dimension.

All vibration comes from somewhere –‘a speaker,’ through the element of space. Space is the medium for all waves to pass through, and waves are the medium for sound. This is why all good composers intuitively know that the ‘space’ between notes and musical phrases is as important as the music itself. This is mirrored in modern day mindfulness and meditation practices, where one is asked to rest in the spaces between your thoughts in order to enter a calm and peaceful state.

Similarly, mantra practices used by tens of millions of people worldwide everyday also focus on the space and silence between mantras. After you complete the mantra, you rest in the space and enter deeper meditation in the next higher mode of vibration.

Every person, every moment, offers depths of interaction, information and experience if we explore these subtleties of vibration. Yet many of us live on a limited bandwidth, a narrow slice of what our full potential as human beings is.

The First Mode (in Sanskrit vaikhari, which means speech) is the most widely used mode of communication, working through speech and writing, relying on the senses for communication. It includes mental chatter or the monkey mind — the background list of things to do and errant thoughts that dominates our everyday mental landscapes.

This mode of communication that we are most familiar with and use daily is the main form of communication found in news channels, social media, and the algorhythms used by Google and Facebook. It is the code of the matrix, lists and repetition, the language of legal jargon, the language of impersonal speech and political doublespeak. Yet it can also be a tool for inspiration and freedom when used in connection with the higher modes of sound.

The Second Mode of the Interface, (madhyama in Sanskrit meaning the middle) is the translator or bridge between our outer senses and normal waking state which sees 5% of reality, AND the other 95% of reality found in the wider spectrums of vibration.

In this fluid medium, we are in flow, in “the zone”. Water, sound-healing and deep listening are some of the mediums we use to enter this expanded reality, and we express this mode through dreams and anything that creates pictures, such as art as popularised by Monet, Turner and Riley, Reiki healing calligraphy, paradox, vivid poetry, sacred geometry, mantra and immersive multimedia forms such as VR and AR.

We find this bridge through our intuition and emotions. It is not what people say to us, it is what we feel behind their words, the motive and intention behind the words, that informs us of their true meanings.

The Third Mode of Knowing or Gnosis (Sanskrit Pasyanti, literally “Seeing”) is the Mode where the mystical wisdom that is the basis of all sacred traditions is accessed through a process of “Universal Download”. It is in this mode of communication that the Vedas, Gnostic Wisdom and many Buddhist sutras were transcribed.

In Greece this state was known as hesychia, or the transmission in which messages from the gods were revealed to select humans, known as heroes. This mode is where word and object are identical, where the division between subject and object, you and me, does not exist. You come to penetrate and understand something so totally you become it. You become the Gnosis.

The Fourth Mode, the Supreme or Absolute Totality (Para in Sanskrit) is the first vibration that gives rise to and generates all others. This is the quantum wave moving through everything in creation, simultaneously the Zero Point Field that encodes all information. It is instantaneous communication to everything everywhere through quantum resonance — the resonance found in all living things. Everything interconnects.

It is from where the three other modes of vibration are generated. Known as Para-spanda (the supreme pulse wave) it is the constant humming in all life, Source consciousness unfolding all the vibratory wave processes in the universe that also flows through our bodies and minds.

We can take the ocean as a good example of a holographic reality: since the ocean is nothing but water we can say that the ocean is contained in every drop. Within a seed the entire structure of the tree is contained, and all future generations of the tree are contained in this single seed.

Every cell of our body contains the complete information about the entire body system. Each of the 100 billion cells that make up the body contains the complete version of the original DNA, that is the source of the entire body! All levels of creation are analogous to each other, because each level of creation is an expression of the whole of creation interpreted through each of the four different modes of vibration.

These holographic realities can be understood and used through the four modes of vibration, processes of multi dimensional communication beginning with the rapid, sensory movements of the First Mode, entering the undulating flow of the Second Mode, to then focus into the one pointed laser of the Third Mode, arriving and arising from the infinite potentials of the Fourth Mode.

And vice versa. From the infinite potential field-wave of the Fourth Mode, laser light focus arises in the lens of the Third Mode, unfolding the undulating, fluid movements of the Second Mode, which solidify into the 3D forms of the First Mode.

These movements show that each mode of vibration is a different energy stream, a different expression. In each mode you meet and express different and unknown aspects of yourself. To find this attunement is to find yourself at your most fluid, open and creative, in tune with the full spectrum of communication, joy and Presence.

THE FOUR MODES in THE CHRISTIAN TRADITION and KABALLAH

In the Bible, Isaiah 6, 9-13, we are told about the four modes of communication: “God said: These people hear ye indeed, but understand not; see ye indeed, but perceive not. Make the heart of these people fat, make their ears heavy, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their heart, and be healed.”

Isaiah here speaks of a threefold perceptivity (seeing, hearing, understanding) that was being forgotten over 2,000 years ago, yet would someday be regained, a fact explicitly recognized in all four Gospels and the conclusion of Acts, Romans and Jeremiah. This Threefold perceptivity leads to the heart being opened and healed in the Fourth Mode, that which lies beyond all words – Communion.

The lost hearing aspect is clairaudience, the hearing of sound beyond the third dimension, and the communicating with spirits and guides. The lost seeing aspect is found in the Second Mode, where we communicate through pictures, geometry and sounds that create visions within the mind. The lost under standing is the knowledge and application of all Four Modes of vibration, understood from unity states of consciousness in the Third and Fourth Modes.

Curiously enough this saying of Isaiah is precisely echoed in the Indian Nada Yoga Sutra: ’Sravanam mananam nidhiyasanam,’’ which means ‘Hear, Reflect, Realize/ Understand.

Isaiah’s words are corroborated by the Kabbalah, which interprets sacred texts in four similar ways to the Indian science of sound, called Pardes or PaRDeS, the “Garden of Delights,” meaning paradise and the worlds we can discover through the expansion of our consciousness. Pardes consists of four methods to decode wisdom and immerse into the vibration of the Kabbalistic wisdom texts, to understand them beyond words as a lived, felt experience.

For example, the first mode of Peshat is the most obvious; reading and interpreting according to the literal, physical meaning of the word or event that corresponds to the first mode of vibration. The second mode of Remez is of interpreting through the archetypal, symbolic, more pictorial meaning that corresponds to the second mode of interface.

The third mode, derash, is the meaning that arises when the previous two modes intersect, i.e. at the juncture or crossing point between the literal and the symbolic, which leads into the third mode of Knowing or Gnosis. The fourth mode, Sod, is the divine interpretation, where a unique insight or hidden meaning arises on a universal essence level. When an individual has this experience of Unity, he can interpret anything in these four different modes.

To put this into perspective: we may read a book now, and re-read it six months in the future and discover a whole new wealth of meaning within it: things we did not pick up on, understand or even notice before come to light, having new meanings to us because we have evolved.

We all find different meanings and levels of importance for different people and events at different times in our lives. What is right for you now may not be right for you in six months time. What is wrong for you now will be the best thing ever for you in six months time. The relationships you are in now may take on a new meaning for you in six months time, or maybe have no meaning at all!

We all give different meanings to different events, people and things at different points in our evolution, and let this meaning or importance go as we evolve. We then find new meanings for the same events, things or people as we grow. This goes on and on, forever evolving. This is a measure, a barometer, for your own personal growth that is inbuilt into the science of vibration. Literally “what you see is what you are.”

The four modes of vibration allow one to immerse into a rich, vibratory event, person or text, enabling it to be accessed as a hologram. This expansion of understanding on multiple layers of meaning, on multiple dimensions, allows one to immerse into and become the wisdom and vibration you are applying yourself to. [1]

This science of vibration has been prophesised to return to us, in Gnostic Christian texts such as the eleventh century Knights of St. John Book of Prophecies, which speaks of a holographic reality emerging and the power of co-creation through a shared universal language:

With the millennium coming, men will finally open their eyes. . .remembering we all form one huge body, of which each one of us is a tiny part. There will be a common language spoken by everybody. . . .Thus, finally, a glorious humanity will come into existence, for they will dream and their dreams will turn into reality.”
